Check out these colors at Sumner Beach during sunset. That sky looks like it’s been painted, doesn’t it? Have you ever been to this awesome beach? I only got to spend a few hours here, but it was well worth the drive out there. I arrived just at the end of the golden hour and got to watch the sun go down right on the water. It was a chilly day, the middle of winter in Christchurch, but these sights instantly made you forget about all that. There’s a giant rock at the end of the beach that everyone climbs to get the best panoramic shots and that’s where this is taken from. I never get tired of beach sunsets.🌅

Hanging off the edge of the Auckland Sky Tower 630 ft up cuz I’m Batman and that’s how I roll. 👍🏼 Are you scared of heights?? Overcome your fear! When in Auckland, get to the Sky Tower and do this Sky Walk! If you’re lucky, the weather will be perfect and you’ll be able to see out forever. 💯 While I wasn’t brave enough to do the Sky Jump and jump off the thing, I had no problem with walking the ledge and hanging over the edge. I’ve always loved heights and the view from above the city was perfect! ✅ .

Memories of one of the best experiences of my life - hiking in the #himalayas
It was a dream of mine since I was a teenager and I finally managed to achieve it back in 2015.
I was sick of making excuses and not going, so I decided to book tickets in November and started hiking in December.
The course was amazing. I made it to the #annapurnabasecamp and back at a relaxing pace as I wanted to spend as much time as possible taking it all in.
And now I have new dreams, even bigger dreams!
Follow your dreams, whatever they are! 😁

Those colorful woolen masks can be found at every market in Bolivia and we had no idea what they stand for...
Until now we found out that they are called "ukuku masks", represent the Andean bear and are part of a native celebration of the stars. This annually held festival takes place in the Sinakara Valley around Cusco region (Peru). Has anyone ever attended this festivity or can tell us what it's about?

A bathroom is not something to be overlooked when you’re deciding on a place to stay while traveling.
Our visitors love the clean, fully stocked bathrooms with walk in showers. They tell us they love that they have the ability to look out into the rainforest while their relaxing in the shower. Keeping the decor and style all in step with the environment reminds you that you’re on the best trip of your life!
As good travelers Nico and I like trying out some local food. We think a good place to do that in South America are the local markets as here at the mercado central in Sucre. It's all freshly prepared and you mostly get huge portions for little money!
Nico is obviously enjoying his milanesa and my Saice (which is like a meat stew) wasn't bad either!

My last day in Queenstown was a great one. A dust of snow, breakfast out on the water, and snow capped mountains in the distance. Have you ever walked down by the water in downtown Queenstown? It’s alive with people, there’s several places to stop and eat & have a drink, and the scenery is as good as it gets. There’s something about cold weather and snow in August that’s hard to forget, especially when you live in south Texas. I really need to get back and fully enjoy what Queenstown has to offer. 💯

🏔Location: Manaslu in Nepal
The eighth highest mountain in the world.
😃People come and climb this mountain and I commend them for their courage...But my courage will go as far as the entrance...
😀Double Tap if you have the guts and ambition to trek this mountain, or the courage to reach the entrance .
Nico and I have become a little lazy when it comes to hiking (not at all noticeable in our stories, I know). During our stay in La Paz we decided to do a little hike through the Valle de las Animas though and have to admit it was totally worth it! Made us remember why we go hiking 😜
We still don't get how those rock structures could have been created...
Nico's funfacts today: I know I've talked about it in our stories already, but I can't stress enough that Sucre is the official capital of Bolivia and not La Paz. That's why the highest capital in the world isn't located in Bolivia but in Ecuador - Quito.
Some people might not wanna accept that fact but it is indeed true @jonoodowd
💥Are these the coolest up close waterfalls you’ve ever seen in your life???💥How legit is this?! As clear as this video is, it still doesn’t even do this sight justice. This was AMAZING in person. Like “oh my god” amazing. As we made our way into one of the arms of Doubtful Sound, the captain told us that we were in for a treat. With the wet conditions, we would be seeing way more waterfalls than are usually present. “Put on your jackets, brave the cold, and get out to the front deck of the boat. We’re going nose in, up close and personal into the falls. This isn’t an everyday sighting, folks. Being wet is temporary. You’ll remember this for a lifetime.” He was absolutely right. Wow. 😮💯And I got absolutely SOAKED. 😂 I wasn’t exactly wearing rain gear either. After we left these falls I went inside the boat and drank like 5 glasses of hot chocolate. Didn’t help. It was another couple of hours back to our dock and 2 more hours on the bus ride to get us home and I was shivering the entire way. When we arrived I had a 15 minute walk to my hotel in freezing rain so I popped into the super popular Fergberger to eat and as I ordered my burger I was so cold that my chest was shaking as I ordered. 😂 No joke. But you know what, it was totes worth it. 👍🏼

It was nice getting to know Jerry the future doctor, and Martin the future architect. My other classes have been going well also. It’s been a busy summer of learning here in Nanjing." - @hudman_123
Throwback to when I visited NYC in August. I keep meaning to share more pictures about my trip but life keep happening. I would love to go back to New York City again. What fun places did you go to over the summer? #iwanttotraveltheworld#nyc#tbt 📷 @theannmariejohn

It is finally over. We have tackled the first month of the new year. ————
One of the biggest achievement we made is creating itinerary for our Euro trip. We are overwhelmed with excitement because we bought the tickets for our Iceland, London and Paris in September. ————
We can’t wait for what’s next.
The lessons, it seems, never stop.
I've been rushing, rushing, rushing, just to stay stuck in limbo.
Missing out, never getting there, and not enjoying where I am...
I've had a beautiful life these last 3 years and I've been so concerned with getting THERE -- to a life of achievement and impact-- that I've hardly had the opportunity to enjoy myself.
Yesterday marked the first time I decided to do the exact opposite. I literally couldn't get to where I was going. Not last night. The FOMO was real and my friends, they partied without me.
I knew what I must do -- break free from the chains that told me to grin and to bear it -- and enjoy the hell out of myself HERE.
So I found a new flight, to a different city, and I didn't check into the cheapest option.
In fact, I filtered the results in a way unthinkable, and searched by the MOST expensive first.
I ordered a glass of cava, and then another. I paired Spanish olivas with a full Rioja and purchased my first ever duty free goods.
I let myself be seen and I spent money on the makeup I was once threatened to shop for. I gave hugs and received them, my new lodging offered a free ride, I was gifted wine, and compliments, they began flowing freely to me.
I scored a window seat in a full row, of a full plane, and the other passengers escaped, to where I don't know, and I found myself with the greatest gift: a row alone.
I have no idea why the universe didn't want me to party last night, why she wanted me to spend over half a grand more on top of what I lost. I have no idea why she asked me to spend 14 hours exhausting myself in transit.
But I see the gift.
And for the first time in my life I chose to enjoy the HERE -- I chose to enjoy the NOW -- without the rush. Because while it may not be on my schedule, I trust I'll get to where I'm going. And one day I'm going to look back on this time, just as I did in Barcelona and just as I did in Bali, and wish I'd allowed myself more fun.
So that's exactly what I'm doing.
Welcome to the next chapter, Christy. I think you'll like it here 🥰
