Hello from Malta!
'Where is the sea and the beaches?' You will ask.
Well, someone has an itching in one place and is not able to stay on a beach for more one hour. So she is out in some sort of a desert, exploring...
Sat - Nice lil training hike to one of my favorite sunshine spots, ingalls lake. Always gorgeous, always provides a nice nap, thank u ingalls for adding the wildflowers, waterfalls, and herd of goats today- extra special!
Welcome to my church: Sunday Service. Here you can laugh, cry, eat, and drink. You can take your time or get wild. Maybe you miss the people that belong here with you. Maybe you’re inundated with passion. You value health, freedom, and opportunity. You can be outspoken or deafening, but maybe you just want to take it in. Come in solitude or in masses. Get spiritual, feel enlightened, but for the love of Mountain - do not blast Sean Paul from your “backpack speakers”.

Wishing I was back here in a quiet Kayangan lake before all the crowds arrive! On a private boat make sure you leave as early as possible to beat the crowds 🇨🇿
Mirror, mirror on the wall.
I'll always get up after I fall.
And weather I run, walk or have to crawl, I'll set my goals & achieve them all.

"The only way that we can live, is if we grow. The only way that we can grow is if we change. The only way that we can change is if we learn. The only way we can learn is if we are exposed. And the only way that we can become exposed is if we throw ourselves out into the open. Do it. Throw yourself."
On my first flight today I sat next to a woman who looked to be around the same age as me. When I sat down she pulled out her phone. Scroll, scroll, scroll, scroll. Her shoulders were slouched and her head tilted down in the infamous position causing our generation a slew of neck and back pain problems. As soon as we took off she put in her EarPods and closed her eyes. Once we landed? Phone out, position assumed, scroll, scroll, scroll.
You probably wonder why I’m telling you this story... loneliness and feelings of isolation are one of the number one complaints of people my age these days... it’s a major contributor to the ever rising depression and anxiety.. and yet, when faced with an opportunity to meet new people so many people completely close themselves off..
She probably didn’t notice but I sat for most of the flight with my devices down waiting for an opportunity to say hi or introduce myself. I travel a lot and have grown to love hearing the life stories of my seat mates... Even with my social anxiety clawing at me, I’ve found that once I just say hi and start asking the person next to me questions the conversation begins to flow naturally.
I know some of you are thinking, “well isn’t this app a part of how you make your living?” It is... but it’s not my life. When given the opportunity to choose between in person interaction and online interaction I do my best to be with who and what’s in front of me. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Listen, I know there’s a million reasons she might have kept to herself today and I’m not here to place any judgement or make any assumptions about this women in particular. Maybe she’s going to a funeral. Maybe she needs rest before a presentation! I’m just using the story as an example we can all relate to (I’ve been that girl myself many, many times before!). All I’m getting at here is that there is a big bad world out there beyond this screen and I hope that we don’t get so lost in here that we forget that.

Surround yourself with people who lift you up. People who see the best in you and want the best for you. People who will celebrate your successes and be the ear you need when things aren’t going so smooth.
The last few years have been huge personal growth years for me but I can honestly say that there’s no way I’d be anywhere near where I am without the support, encouragement, and friendships I’ve made along the way.
As a recovering tomboy who used to really struggle making girlfriends, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the badass lady friends I have in my life these days. Cheers to being vulnerable... to keeping it real... and to crushing some big goals.

& these are the moments I live for, this is why I hike.
There’s a certain joy found in effort isn’t there? That feeling you get when you are absolutely exhausted physically but literally floating inside.
I’ve always found myself called to test my limits... to step into something without fully knowing if I’m capable but trying anyways. There are times where I do, in fact, meet my limits but more often than not I realize I’m more capable than I ever thought possible.
First and foremost I want to say a big thanks for all of you who cheered us on for our big hike yesterday. Nearly 23 miles and 5,600 foot elevation ascent in total making it (by far) my biggest day yet. My hips are sore... My heart is happy... And if there’s one thing I could leave you with it’s this mantra, “You are stronger than you think you are”. Have a great weekend Instagram Family ❤️ (photo by @photograferg)

I’ve paddled rivers, ran through the forest, and skied high peaks. I’ve shot big guns, jeeped through the desert and piloted a plane. The more do I, the more I become and the more I learn how much of the wild is inside of me ↟↟↟
These days it can be a rarity to be doing just one thing at any given time. How often are we checking our phones when watching a movie, listening to a podcast when driving, reading an article whilst eating, adding things to our never ending to-do lists, or mindlessly scrolling through Instagram during a beautiful sunset? We are so often multi-tasking and nearly always consuming something. It’s one of the reasons I love hiking. It forces me to be focused entirely in the moment... to think about my surroundings, how I’m moving my feet, the weight on my back, the sounds of nature, and the feeling of being truly alive. I find myself getting lost in daydreams and thoughts, and it’s typically where I have my best ideas. My body may be tired at the end of a hiking trip but my mind is usually buzzing with creative energy and aspirations ✨ Does anyone else experience the same thing?
