BAGELS!! Alright, so growing up closer to New York City always had it in my head nobody could ever make bagels like New York City but I’m not going to lie Philly I get you now! Pictured here is a whole wheat everything bagel with tofutti creamcgeese from @phillystylebagels. Anyway, nutritionally speaking the reason I’m bringing bagels into the limelight is that I often times I hear people group these types of foods into a “bad” category. Creating labels on food we good or bad, healthy or not, famously eat this not that can really hurt rather than help your health based goals. All foods can be worked into a healthy diet regimen. Creating these labels on food can lead to self restriction and deprivation of these foods, often causing overconsumption when you do give in. Some tips to help you move past these labels and still meet your food/nutrition goals- listen and respond to your body, try to adhere to a regular meal schedule (preferably 6 small meals through the day), engage in physical activity (in whatever capacity that means to you- anything is better than doing nothing! Small steps!) and finally encourage the people around you to do the same! Happy Sunday everyone, hope your enjoying a bagel today 🥯
