Last night after my round at Belcourt Taps celebrating @shellyriff1’s birthday, when I sat down to watch the next round, a woman wearing a pink hat walked on stage. I saw that she was holding my ‘’Orchid’’ CD in her hands. She quieted the crowd and waved my CD in the air and loudly said into the microphone, ‘’Olivia Frances is going to be a star!’’ It felt like the room had froze. She went on to state that she was going to buy 10 of my CD’s so that she could give them to whoever wanted one and they could have a copy ‘’before I’m famous.’’ It was one of those tonight’s I won’t forget.
It turns out this woman’s name is Rebekah Del Rio and she is a gold record recording artist and a powerhouse vocalist, with a three-octave range (and is amazing - go listen to her). Although I thanked Rebekah in person as she bought 10 CD’s right then and there and went on to hand them out to audience members, I wanted to share this story and make a post to thank her. Rebekah, thank you for last night, for supporting my music and believing in me. Thank you for sharing my music. I’m so grateful we met. I’m looking forward to playing at your benefit concert. 💖
