Famous as the birthplace of St. Francis, St. Clare and the poet Propertius, this charming town is home to beautiful churches, tantalizing bakeries and food shops, and stunning hilltop views, all wrapped in truly fascinating history. This often overlooked Italian gem is worth a stop and makes for a great day trip from Rome
This weekend consisted of many hours spent on the beach with my little family👫🐶running around and swimming in the pouring rain, enjoying the simple things. I love slow living. One of the many reasons I adore this island, it teaches you to just be.📍Kiawah Island, SC
| Unrelated to this beautiful waterfall, but there has been a lot of hate in my city this weekend. It’s strange feeling uneasy going to work, listening to your coworkers strategize lock-down procedures and self-protection while feeling the urge to be armed in some way. This is not the world I pictured myself in at this point, especially here in Portland, but alas, this is the reality. However, despite all the fear and violence, there has also been a lot of love and support for one another, which is what I’m choosing to focus on. It’s the only way I can remain sane during all this. I know this battle is not over, but we can’t let those who want to bring darkness to our world, win. #staypositive 🧡✌🏼

I get this face around big dogs, restaurant food, and books 📚
The forehead vein only starts poppin’ when any of the aforementioned things are found in beautiful places, though 💁🏼♀️ #insaneinthemembrane (P.S. How well do I match that emoji?!)
It began on my first trip to Ireland. Walking around Dublin, I started to notice doors. I admit, it’s a weird thing on which to fixate. The bright colors of the Georgian doors around Merrion Square really caught my eye. Blues, pastels, oranges all vibrant and symmetrical on traditional row homes. Then, a bit later, I started noticing door knockers. Lion heads, snakes, mermaids, or just plain heavy metal rings. They were everywhere, and I liked their antique look. The more I traveled, the more I saw and this odd little obsession with doors was in full swing. My favorite doors are almost always church doors. They’re always huge, meant to be intimidating and awe inspiring, and often carved with intricate symbolism. No place has better church doors than Italy. But something happened on a trip through Rome and Florence. I had become numb after seeing so many magnificent doors, they just weren’t special to me anymore. I had to move on to something new. Something new, and definitely more obscure. Shutters. I started looking up at the buildings that lined those narrow streets. Every window had shutters. Most were painted green or black which just seemed to work against the pale orange masonry of these parts. Some had weathered, chipping paint that added a texture my camera lens struggled to capture. The street pictured here in Florence was bustling just before the holidays, but there I was looking up the whole time at shutters. Maybe I like them because when they’re open they offer a glimpse into somebody’s world. When they’re closed, you have to use your imagination as to what’s beyond. Or maybe I’m just a strange, strange person who thinks about little details far too often. #italy#florence#shutters#streetscene #travel#travelphotography#throughthelens#instatravel#instapassport#capture#aroundtheworld#letsgoeverywhere#picoftheday#photooftheday#exploremore#passionpassport#photogram#photographyeveryday#wanderlust#postcardplaces
The night sky in Mendocino County can be just as breathtaking as its show stopping sunsets, or its gentle foggy mornings. Here's a photo of Elk showing off its stars. Stunning photo by @charliewalkerin
