One of my favorite things I have had the privilege to learn is how to throw ceramic pottery on the wheel. Studio college level a couple times gave me some opportunity to grow as a potter. I miss it and cannot wait to be able to buy a wheel and kiln to start working on it again! I miss it so much. Shout out to one of the best ceramics teachers in the valley @janekelseymapel thank you for pushing me, believing in me and being an awesome support during that time. I’m looking forward to keep going. #potterywheel#pottery#glaze
Arizona is my home. Its beauty continues to blow me away and change my perspective on the diversity that creates beauty. In the coming year I hope to play around more with glazes that remind me more of our beautiful state we have here. What do you think of this AZ Rust mug? Available on my @etsy right now!

The changes of the same clay body throughout the stages of making.
1. Raw clay; malleable.
2. Greenware; air dried clay. Brittle, will return to raw clay if submerged in water (recycled). 3. Bisque fired to cone 06 (1000deg Celcius). No longer recyclable. Porous.
4. Glaze fired to cone 10 (1285deg Celcius). Fully vitrified. Non-porous.
Somehow I see a correlation between clays journey and ours; soft and malleable when we're young, and as we age, life seems to harden us up a little!
Patience, Practise, Precision, Power 💪🏼
To be honest I thought pottery was going to be easy. How wrong I was! I was totally out of my comfort zone, being a perfectionist and thinking everything I do is rubbish really holds me back from observing and growing. This week it challenged me to stretch myself. After doing something once, have you ever thought, I’m no good at this, maybe it’s not for me? I have, many times, about time to let go and discover what it really takes to become extraordinary! I have to remind myself to not beat myself up all the time! Happy learning everyone and happy Sunday 🌹
