Gem Lake, Mummy Range region, Rocky Mountain National Park - this one was a real find. Wanting to try something different, we just tried this hike on a whim. This lake is gorgeous. It’s small, only around 100-125 yards long and maybe 40-50 yards wide. But the surroundings are spectacular. There was even a sandy beach to take a nap on, which I did. I wanted to see how the light changed over the time we were there. The hike in was medium steep and typically rocky, but the elevation was lower than many off the Bear Lake trailhead area. The round trip was 5 miles (not the 3.5 the guidebook listed - who measures these things?!?), but this would be a fantastic ‘first hike’ for those coming to the region from lower elevations. This is one I will return to, for sure. #rmnp#rockymountainnationalpark#hiking#rockymountains#colorado#landscape#nikon#nikon14to24mm#14mm#justgoshoot#naturephotography
sometimes the connection in a moment seems to transcend time and space.
it feels eternal.
like it was bound to be part of you all along, and will always be rooted there to shape you in the future.
I want my work to represent this kind of transcendence.
I want each moment to be equal parts an authentic memory frozen in time, a deep emotion felt in the space, and a fuckin beautiful piece of art, that captivates & inspires you every time you live it.
here’s to this transcendent piece I got to create with these two humans this past week.
LETS TALK ABOUT YESTERDAY YALL. Spent almost 30 hours total in Colorado hangin’ with these cuties. On our way up #RockyMountainNationalPark , we met some bad luck with a flat tire and lots of puppy vomit. That didn’t stop these two from literally giggling, laughing, and braving the mountain wind chill to celebrate this amazing time in their lives being engaged!!! Seriously counting down the days till their wedding!!! 😍 Kelly + Gio, thank you for the taco bowls, laughs, car talks & freakin’ picking me up at midnight and giving me hugs goodbye to me at 4am today!!!!! FREAKIN’ LIVE YOU GUYS.
