bird bath that doubles as a bee drinking hole 🐝🐤💛🌼 keeping water available (especially in summer) is critical in helping bee populations thrive! observing these guys everyday is so amazing, i’ve had to save a couple from drowning because they slip in & being able to look at them close up is so fascinating. .
Throwing it back to this time last week, celebrating #nationalhoneybeeday . We took a little trip to nearby flower fields to get buzzing about the bees. Check my story to find out why our Bee Lovely range is so BEEutiful! And why our bees are so important to us and our planet. Using naturally nourishing, fair trade organic honey and uplifting, sun-ripened oranges to condition the skin and lift the spirits! Gentle enough for the whole family, aged 3 years and over. #savethebees#nyrocommunity#nyrosummerfun#beelovely
Good morning. Today it's my fun facts on Drones (Male Honeybees) Drones do not have a stinger, they do no work as in foraging and their sole purpose is to mate with the Queen. They tend to live only 4-5 weeks and after mating several times their "endophallus" basically drops off and they die. If they survive mating with the Queen they are evicted from the hive at the end of summer and left to die. This photo shows how much bigger a Drone is compared to a Worker bee. Hope you have enjoyed my facts on Honeybees, they have a hard life and work incredibly hard, we must look after them 🐝 I will share some facts about Honey next week 🍯 #honeybees#beekeeping#beekeepers#drones#savethebees#helptheplanet
Just opened our #beehive for the first time since we got our colony, great structures in the supers and the entire colony is super chilled while working with them #savethebees - thanks again for the inspiration and training #HoneyChild in #knysna

Lately it’s been tough to be positive about the current state of the environment... but unfortunately anxiety and fear won’t fix anything - action will. Let’s celebrate the small wins and build on them ✨
Ok. Bad news. You’ve seen the headlines – the Amazon is on fire. What might not be clear is that the unprecendented rate of fire is probably not an accident. Some reports state that fires are being started intentionally... to clear land for cattle ranching. Not good, to put it lightly. The Amazon Rainforests are often called the lungs of the planet-- we all need them to breathe-- and they are being catastrophically destroyed. We need these forests if we are ever going to see the headline, "Climate Change Efforts are Succeeding." So let’s get to work and do the simple things we can each do in the fight against deforestation. Here are 6 simple ways we can make a major impact right now. @rainforestalliance@keepcup@whogivesacraptp@amazonwatch@conservationorg
