REHEARSAL DINNER: last night I was reminded of being 16 years old & praying to God for a best friend. Weeks later I met @beca.abigail 🧡 we’ve been through so many seasons together & now we’re in PR together & it’s almost your wedding day! I love you so much B. Thank you for being you. You deserve the best & @isaiah_negron really is the best! 1 more day!!

We took a day off yesterday to spend time with family and celebrate the life of an amazing, faithful woman who battled cancer for 7 1/2 years.
It's days like yesterday that remind you that the petty arguments aren't really worth it; that your faith in the Lord and passing your faith on to future generations is the most important asset you have; that there's way more to life than "stuff" and the next big thing - that contentment is truly found within a grateful heart. ❤

Why does the work day have to be so long? I’m counting down the hours till I see this sweet face again. Everyone says the days are long but the years are short-I don’t know about that. The days are short, my weeks fly by, and the months pass in a blink of an eye.

As a busy solopreneur I really love a big tote bag. I can throw everything in it (including chargers 🔌) and work from anywhere! So practical.
Do you use a tote or a backpack 🎒 ⠀

This apple tree needed some rest this year. Last summer it produced more apples than ever, and now it seemed to need a year off. This tree has been there longer than I’ve lived. It’s beautiful, old apple tree which has brought so much joy (and delicious apples) to our lives. I hope to see those little beautiful green apples again next year!
I’ve also planted a pear tree in my garden this summer and I’m excited to see what happens during the next years. Though I love seasonal summer gardening, even more I love to see little trees growing strong and starting to produce fruits during the first years of their lives.
Another reason to be excited – weekend! Perfect time to relax and enjoy the last weeks of summer weather. Also, perfect time for some cooking. Do you have any cooking or baking plans for this weekend?
I hope you have a relaxing Thursday evening!

It has been quite the week, Seren got her A Level results last Thursday and Holly received her GCSE results today 😅 ...and she absolutely aced them! We’ve been on cloud nine all day, I was particularly worried as Holly had an awful stomach bug throughout her exam period, to the point that in one of her exams she was put in a room alone and the invigilator had to hold her hair back while she was sick 🙈!! Typical - it is never plain sailing!! There has been so much other stuff going on too (I’ll get caught up here yet) and I don’t like leaving my youngest two out. Wee Izzy is up to Grade 6 in her singing and earlier this Summer we toilet trained Ezra...he had just turned 3 but I’m a huge advocate for recognising when they’re ready and not forcing it too early, so it can be done in a week rather than tearing your hair out over months! He must have heard his daddy and I chatting and keeps telling his granny that he ‘smashed it!’ 😂. Anyway back in April (desperately playing catch up now 🙈) I was asked to write a piece for the @alexandalexacom lifestyle blog about my motherhood experiences, the dichotomy of raising toddlers and teens at the same time and I’d love if you would have a wee read. I’ve linked the article in my bio. We were given some stunning pieces from my most favourite children’s brands @bobochoses@littlecreativefactory@lescoyotesdeparisgirls and @angulus_kids to style the piece and I can’t wait to share more pictures of this shoot over the next few weeks. Thank you so much @alexaandalexacom#gifted

Introducing the GARDENIA CANDLE, a delicate floral scent. It’s a blend of jasmine water, ambergris, bergamot and most importantly gardenia. It smells divine, just like the end of summer✨
The search for the closest thing to heaven on Earth..
It's not your clothes. It's not your education. It's not your money. It's not your possessions. It's not yourself. .
It comes with unity. It comes with forgiveness. It comes with sacrificial love and intertwining your life with other eternal beings.
It comes with understanding that to bring heaven on Earth, we have to become like Jesus, who didn't use being God himself as an excuse to not humble himself in giving up His life for us.
That is how my marriage has been sanctifying me. That is how motherhood has been sanctifying me. It has called me out of the world that preaches self love and into a realm of sacrificial love that is transforming my life more than any amount of self love could. .
I am so thankful to Jesus for laying down his life for me, and for drawing me to Him. I am so humbled by His patience with me, because I am not going to say all this and not confess that I am the most selfish, struggling human being out there. But, hopefully it is an encouragement and exhortation to stay in the process of the transformation of our lives. ❤️
...and all of that to say I love my family, and I love this picture. ❤️

Add this little guy to your healing arsenal ☝🏼🌿 This formula with herbal antihistamines and plants support an even keeled immune system. It works wonders as a tonic taken in small amounts over time, or in the throes of an acute allergy attack. It even works great for pet allergies! 🐾

Products I've (Sort Of) Changed My Mind About.
Glossier BDC - I didn't think much of this skin salve at first since the formula is quite thin, slippery and not moisturizing enough for my lips. But I've enjoyed using this for my tattoos and I sometimes add a little bit of this over my powder highlighter to give it a 'wet' look.
COSRX Advanced Snail Mucin Essence - this is a gentle yet effective product that helped to add some hydration to my skin. But it didn't do much else so I wasn't the biggest fan of it. However, I sort of miss using this product and I feel like my skin hasn't been as hydrated as it was when I was using this essence (even though I'm currently using other HA products). So I may repurchase this in the future.
Revlon Colorstay Foundation (for Oily/Combo Skin) - this used to be my holy grail foundation for years but I just don't like it anymore. I'm not sure if my skin has changed but this foundation is a little too thick and somewhat cakey on my skin. I much prefer foundations that look like skin.
African Extracts Rooibos 3-in-1 Wash, Scrub + Mask - I used to love this stuff as a cleanser and as a quick, in-shower mask. I'm currently using my 5th bottle of it and I feel as though it's not as effective (wrt to helping to heal acne and decongesting my skin) as it used to be.
Any products about which you changed your mind? Comment down below!
Current Makeup Faves.
Nyx Off Tropic Eyeliner (Crushin' It) - this is such a brilliant eyeliner. It's a gorgeous bright pink shade and the formula is pigmented, smooth, long-lasting and transfer-proof.
Real Techniques Stippling Brush - this brush does a great job at distributing cream/liquid blushes without creating any streaks or patches and without moving the foundation underneath.
3CE Take a Layer Multi-Pot (Common Time) - this is a rather 'dry' cream blush that has beautiful and even pigmentation. It's such an easy product to apply and blend and the shade (an orange-red) is gorgeous.
Colourpop Single Eyeshadows (Try Me, Making Moves, Chic Happens) - CP's pressed powder eyeshadow formula is one of my faves. These shades blend like a dream!
Nabla Single Eyeshadow (Absinthe) - this is a gorgeous icy blue-purple duochrome and the formula is super smooth (and almost glossy/ wet-looking). Because it lacks a bold base pigment, this eyeshadow is perfect as a topper shade and as an inner corner highlight.
Makeup Review: Hourglass Veil Translucent Setting Powder (mini size from Cult Beauty).
This is a super hyped up product that I did not like at all. Firstly, the holes in sifter are so small so I struggled to get enough powder out of the tub. Secondly, the powder isn't as finely milled as I would've liked it to be. But, despite this, the powder wasn't chunky or uneven when applied to the skin. My main problem with this powder is that it didn't actually set my makeup. Because of this, the liquid makeup on my face creased, transferred and didn't last as long as it usually does. Also, this powder looked super cakey on my skin and emphasized every bit of acne, texture and lines. Seriously, this powder settled into lines and texture I didn't even know I had. My undereye area looked drier than the Sahara desert. On a more positive note, the powder didn't leave a white cast on my skin.
I ended up decluttering this product after a few uses and I definitely will not repurchase. That being said, a lot of people love this powder so what may not work for me may work for you (and vice versa). Have you tried this product? Comment down below! #burgundyxhourglass
I watch everyone
move so fast
towards each other,
and I think... How beautiful it is
when it moves slow,
and takes time,
when it’s curious,
how it lingers,
all those layers to uncover
How it feels to explore. — Unknown
