Bira member @philipmorrisandson's two shops in #Hereford may look very traditional but the firm has been trading successfully online for almost 20 years. Managing partner John Jones tells @biraretail what it was like to be in business at the start of the ecommerce boom.
“In retrospect, we were lucky to get on to it so early because back then no one knew anything much about online. Like everyone else, we just had to learn as we went along. We had an off-the-shelf website to begin with, but we built our expertise internally. By 2005 we had put together our first bespoke site.”

My name is Maureen Koopman of @allspelledout and I’m an artist and a serial entrepreneur. That sounds a bit like a confession but it’s actually something I’m quite proud of. Besides curating Home for the Holidays each season, I create (and teach others to create) mixed media, felt flower home decor, throughout the year.
I am a self-proclaimed black thumb (as in plants come to my house to die) so creating faux flowers from gorgeous wool-blend felt was perfect for me & something I am very passionate about. Best part: They never die & no watering required!
I love sharing my creative energy and passion with others by teaching workshops. Helping people get a little out of their comfort zone is rewarding for me and for them. There’s nothing better when someone asks “Where’d you get that?!?” than being able to say “I made it myself!”
I am beyond excited for our 4th season and can’t wait for you to see what we have in store- literally- this year at 14532 Detroit Avenue in Lakewood! See you soon!

Pompom or no pompom., The roll up the Brim beanie is for everyone. So many of you asked for a style that your baby-daddy could wear to match, and well, I think we’ve done it. .
Also, the hydrangeas are in full bloom in my backyard. If you want some, they are for the taking. What’s your favourite fall flower??

More east of India stock than you could throw a stick at- we don’t know how they think up all the marvellous sentiments on all the hearts, pebbles, mugs, animals, dishes, mugs and so on and so on- easier if you just come in and have a look- Hertford is open right through the bank holiday weekend and it’s gonna be a hot one ( although my Nan would still have said “wrap up warm” oh and “drive safely” oh and “worse things happen at sea”) - how did she know all this stuff. I wonder if I’ll be wise if I’m ever old - doubtful - apparently it was hotter in the olden days and the summers lasted for ever - I think was when men wore hats and ties to visit the seaside and whilst gardening too. It was all pleats, turnups, cravats tie pins, hairpins - what goes around comes around .
Gosh is that the time - time for some Yorkshire tea #clockcards
