I said to my soul, be still and wait without hope, for hope would be hope for the wrong thing;
wait without love, for love would be love of the wrong thing;
there is yet faith, but the faith and the love are all in the waiting.
Wait without thought, for you are not ready for thought:
So the darkness shall be the light, and the stillness the dancing.
My first video EVER has gone live on @tlc_india today and I’m just so, SO nervous! What are you still doing here?? Go watch it!! 😃
I went backpacking around Sri Lanka for 25-odd days and it took me on an adventure I would’ve NEVER imagined. The country is incredible, and seeing it with fellow backpackers I met along the way made the experience a million times better. I’ve worked really, really hard on this entire series of vlogs, and I think it’s turned out quite well 😉
It would mean SO MUCH if you’d give me those 10 minutes of your day and watch the first episode that’s just gone up! You’ll find this location in it too 😄
A shoutout to @nikkkinowicki , @yolanesima , @tjade.appel and @roysvillahostel , who are in today’s episode! It was SO MUCH FUN meeting you guuuyyyssss ♥️ Thanks for letting me shove my camera in your faces and also filming some beautiful shots of me 😄
Low-key hiding from social media right now because I legit only want validation (human, okay?) and the anxiety situation is too damn high 🙈
Goooo watch it and tell me what you think!! Link in my stories, and I’ll remind you everyday 🤪
Experience Beautiful one day, perfect the next with #aliyatours .

Location 📌 Pidurangala rock
Pidurangala rock located very close to #Sigiriya Rock Fortress, Pidurangala archaeological site is not so commonly visited place. The gravel road by the Sigiriya leads you to #Pidurangala . You can follow the Archilogical department name road and need to travel around 2 km.
History of Pidurangala flows beyond the 1 & 2 century B.C. Pidurangala was used as a Monastery from those days. But this place becomes a prominent Buddhist Monastery during the King Kasyapa time ( 477 - 495 AC). Some believe that Sigiriaya also a Buddhist monastery before the King Kasyapa time. Once he decided to built his fortress in Sigiriya, he requested the monk to move to Pidurangala and had contributed lot for the development of it. It is believed that the "Uppalavanna Kashyapa Giri Viharaya" which was constructed by King Kashyapa was located in the Pidurangala.

It’s national elephant day today 🐘 I never wanted to show any of the content I took with these elephants but I thought there is an important message to share here.
A couple of months ago I visited Sri Lanka. I was so utterly excited to see the Sri Lankan elephants.
As it was a very last minute trip. I did a very quick search on where to see elephants and booked a hotel for a night opposite the infamous lake where they take the elephants from a nearby orphanage to bathe several times a day.
To my shock I found a lot of the elephants being chained up and some were beaten ( as you can see in the background of this video). It left me heartbroken.
The orphanage itself is a conservation project for the endangered Sri Lankan elephants and serves somewhat a positive purpose. Eventhough, the treatment of their ‘naughty’ elephants (as their carers and hotel staff call them) could be improved.
However, there are many far worse places that are visited and sustained by tourists, exploiting these poor creatures. I would highly recommend doing a thorough research before visiting elephants anywhere in the world because chances are if they’re not in their natural habitat, you are contributing to cruelty.
And if you’re thinking of riding elephants. Please DON’T.
