Belief is soooo crucial in becoming successful.
Because there are going to be people who doubt you, people who say you can’t do it, people who love sharing their two cents.
There are going to be challenges and roadblocks and setbacks. Not everything on our journey is going to be easy — but everything worth while is UPHILL ! (John Maxwell shout out)
I used to struggle with this in the beginning of my business — like ‘who am I?’
‘Why should I deserve this?’
‘What makes me different?’
‘Am I strong enough to make this work?’
‘Am I crazy for doing this?’
I fought those demons all the time — because on paper I was 𝘑𝘜𝘚𝘛 a woman, 𝘑𝘜𝘚𝘛 a wife, 𝘑𝘜𝘚𝘛 a mom, 𝘑𝘜𝘚𝘛 a teacher— but in my heart I KNEW I was capable of SO MUCH MORE than 𝘑𝘜𝘚𝘛!!!
I built my belief with reading, with podcasts, with mentoriship, with goal setting, with educating myself, with surrounding myself with people ‘who got it’ - I built my BELIEF through effort and time! It didn’t happen overnight by any means - but I’m so thankful today for those who BELIEVED IN ME EVEN WHEN I STRUGGLED.

💜This quote is what this program is all about. It started on challenges that appeared to have limits but grew (and continues to grow) to high limits by facing the challenges.
Our goal is to help you face your challenges, for they are what make life interesting but overcoming them is what makes life meaningful 💜
The Hire Express 2020 Beyond Bitumen Rally will be Team Phevelyn’s fourth consecutive entry into this outstanding event for Beyond Blue.
This year we have decided to up the ante. Rather than continue on participating with just ‘Car 64’, we have decided to add ANOTHER car to the team and have convinced an amazing couple to pilot it for us!!
Let us introduce you to the new car and crew!Joining Team Phevelyn in next year’s event will be husband and wife duo of Deanna and Trevor Van Reyk – otherwise known as Team DeeVor. They will be piloting ‘Car 007’, a Holden Trailblazer.
In Dee’s previous life she worked for Beyond Blue as their fundraising Coordinator.. Dee will bring not only her wealth of community and corporate fundraising knowledge to the team but also her infectious personality!
Trevor, who is a keen motoring enthusiast and supporter of the rally like his wife, will also endear himself to all those who are lucky enough to meet him!
Team Phevelyn welcomes Dee and Trev and are super excited about having Team DeeVor on board in 2020 – we look forward to working alongside this awesome pair of humans.
Keep an eye out for our new members, new car, new colours, promotions and videos in the very near future!! #beyondblue#beyondbitumen#hireexpress#helpcar64domore#TeamDeeVor#doubletrouble#ForBabyCharlie#2020#Dee#Trev#Car007#excited#skysthelimit
Dedicating #tbt to this beautiful group of fierce #%*\?! SANGERS!!!!!😍🤩🔥🙌🏿 The past 5 weeks have been hard work but I’ve never worked with a more supportive and passionate group of artists in my life! 🙏🏿 •
Throw dirt on me and grow a wildflower.
Welcome to another #thoughtfulthursday post here 🙃 I hope ya’ll are enjoying these. Let me know if I should continue with them! I know they are long buuuuut, you seem to like them 🤷♀️ and I like sharing my life. It’s therapeutic as I’m a very private person and have never talked about this stuff.
OOOOOOkay - here we go: I once had a dude tell me I had a beautiful body, but an effed up face. Of course, this dude was upset with me at the time because I didn’t want to give him my phone number; buuuut, nonetheless, I was at a point in my life where I was running on empty. I was out of self esteem. Out of confidence. And out of loving myself. Of course I stared in the mirror and hated what I saw. Of course I piled on more makeup.
Maybe this is why it stung the way that it did. If I had been running on full and loving life, maybe it wouldn’t have phased me. Maybe I would have realized I didn’t need more makeup and that it really wasn’t me but him.
The funny thing is, for as much as the comment stung, I can’t remember this dude. Can’t remember his face. Can’t remember his name. Can’t remember where we were when the comment was made. But I remember the words.
I posted my first #transformationtuesday post and it was pretty emotional for me. Not so much for the physical changes, but for the overall health and well being changes. The internal changes. The changes only I can see. I know it may be weird, but I am so damn proud of me. Proud of the changes only I can see. The world is my oyster and the sky’s the limit. Here’s to makeup free days, giving free smiles and loving the skin I’m in. Here’s to looking in the mirror and loving every scar, every pore and every crease.
I would love to hear of a time in your life where someone told you you couldn’t do something and you proved them wrong and kicked it’s #booty 😉
Sticky Note - compliment of my mama’s office when I was visiting.
