Its my day off today, but I’m up early to try and keep a routine going. I can struggle with my sleep at times, and having set times to get up and go to bed, regardless of the day, can really help to reset your sleep! I also struggle to lie in as I get hungry and breakfast is my favourite meal of the day! Today’s is oat flakes, yoghurt, blueberries and banana- great source of proteins, carbs and vitamins. Much needed after a long run yesterday!

🐻Bear hug. This stretch works the rhomboids and trapezius muscles of your upper back. It helps to alleviate shoulder blade discomfort or pain that’s caused by poor posture, bursitis, or frozen shoulder.
🐒Neck Stretch. These stretches will help to relieve tension in your head, neck, and shoulders. Try to focus on maintaining good posture when doing these.

Now, here’s a story.. Still Plymouth. Bed 3. This house used to belong to Robert Lenkiewicz, one of South West England’s most celebrated artists of modern times. He’s buried in the garden. Our wonderful Les introduced me to the amazing Esther who introduced me to the beautiful Anna. She very generously put me up for the night in her magnificent home, filled with incredible art work, fabulous pieces of sculpture, furniture, fabrics, log burning stoves, a very cute little black kitten and an embalmed body of a vagrant man called Edwin McKenzie aka Diogenes, in the attic. Yes... it’s as true as the bingo wings I shake when I wave... I saw him, I touched him, I slept beneath him. Lenkiewicz found Edwin living in a concrete barrel. He befriended him, let him bed down at his gaff, painted him and made an agreement to embalm his body after his death. The artist had a particular interest in these destitute, outcast folk and hoped that his vagrancy exhibition would illuminate the plight of these ‘invisible people’ and galvanise the community into humane action on their behalf. He was interested in the frailties of life and death. He said “To paint oneself is to paint a portrait of someone who is going to die... and the same applies if one paints anyone else.” He shared his home with the homeless. Lenkiewicz had hundreds of lovers, 12 children, no bank account and threw open the doors of his studios to anyone in need of a roof – down and outs, addicts, criminals and the mentally ill congregated there. These individuals were the subjects of his paintings. I wish I could have met this extraordinary man. I think we would have had the crack. My new dream? Is it bedtime yet?😴 Earlier I was trying to imagine my life without oils and it scared me! I still remember what it was like to be up all night trying my hardest to fall asleep and to stay asleep. I am sooooo thankful I now have oils to help!
These are some of my favorites that my family uses:
💧 Cedarwood - my FAVORITE sleep oil. It helps my brain shut off.
💧 Lavender - the go-to oil for sleep, also the one I recommend if you have never tried oils before.
💧 Peace - this is my favorite blend to diffuse in my kids’ rooms. It’s calming but also helps with focus and anxiety.
💧 Petitgrain - if you like the benefits of lavender, but not the floral aroma, this is for you!
💧 Roman Chamomile - has a calming effect on the whole body and is also great for kids.
💧 Vetiver - apply to the big toe and be prepared to pass out!
💧 Arborvitae - I diffuse this when I don’t feel well. It’s grounding but also amazing for the immune system.
💧 Ylang Ylang - calming, soothing, and relaxing.
💧 Serenity - the sleep blend, has all the best sleep oils in it!
💧 Juniper Berry - this is the go-to oil for bad dreams.
