Climbing up Pidurangala equals this view of Sigiriya - dubbed the 8th wonder of the world (by locals) 😅
According to an ancient Sri Lankan chronicle, Sigiriya was selected by King Kashyapa (477 – 495 CE) for his new capital. He built his palace on the top of this rock and decorated its sides with colourful frescoes. The name is derived from a gateway in the form of a lion — Sīnhāgiri, the Lion Rock (similar to Sinhapura, the Sanskrit name of Singapore, the Lion City). The capital and the royal palace was abandoned after the king's death. It was used as a Buddhist monastery until the 14th century. Sigiriya is a UNESCO listed World Heritage Site and one of the best preserved examples of ancient urban planning.

Where it all started... So in October 2018, my social media started blowing up! I was in Sri Lanka travelling and enjoying capturing all my adventures. Turns out, you guys loved it too!😂 Since then, my life has been a madness.
The main amazing things I've done since then are travel and meet incredible people! Social media can be a dangerous world. But if you take a step back, enjoy the real life experiences and make social media work for you.... It can be life changing.
S R I L A N K A D I A R Y:
- the simplicity there.. you don't wear make up. You dress up mostly covered. No one looks at your clothes. You don't have to ask yourself: "does your skirt fit to your blouse" Because nobody cares...
I lived there with less and I was really happy. Playing around with your cute cousins and sweating like shit after that 😂😂😂👍🏾 #JaMann
Oh and the weather is just amazing 😂 7 am --> 32 degrees. 11 pm --> 30 degrees.
And have you ever eaten ice cream there? Or cream sarbath #MissingItToooooBad 🤧
- The traffic is disgusting.. Bäh. People look at eachother, like they didn't see any human being for a while. Esspecially when they realize, you are from a foreign country. That really got me on my nerves.
And the pressure of the society is too high. If you see a girl with a boy who is not her brother or relative.. game over bitch. Not only game over in front of her parents. Also game over in the society.
That's what I saw and felt there.
Just to be honest: I really love Sri Lanka and those different vibes.. But I'm really thankful for living in germany. Really! #ThuggisRealtalks#SriLankaDiary
St. Clair's Fall 😍 and the unseen winding path downstream 📸 a very unique look photographed by @thilina_kuruwita an account worth following ❤️🇱🇰
A very uncommon view of St. Clairs fall, which is commonly known as the "Little Niagara of Sri Lanka". There is a lookout point on the Hatton - Talawakele highway, which is about 500m opposite the fall and you can climb down into the tea estate and walk through the bushes a small distance to get a clearer picture 🙏🏻
The waterfalls consist of two falls called "Maha Ella" (The Greater Fall), where the cascades apparently total to 260 ft high and 160 ft wide and "Kuda Ella", (The Lesser Fall), which totals to 160 ft in height and is located immediately downstream of the main fall 😍
