Name 1 Vice or way you self-soothe/self-medicate/numb out/avoid discomfort. Again, in an effort to bolster self-awareness, normalize (but, not condone) this behavior and to #ShatterShame . It’s ok to struggle. Life is a full spectrum journey!
Here we go:
This is a tough one for me to open up about. As someone with 8 years sober from drugs and alcohol, it’s not easy to admit to anyone that I repeatedly relapse on my addiction to nicotine. I smoked cigarettes through my first yoga teacher training. I quit after I developed asthma and was completely vice free for many years after that. Times got rough for me though. I went through a divorce, I got into a dark relationship that taught me the depth of my shadows, I fell away from my yoga practice and I started up again. As I recovered from all the pain I quit cigarettes again. I lasted almost a year and then decided to hit someone’s vape at a wedding. Next thing I knew I was vaping again. It felt easier, safer, more socially acceptable...it comforted me when I was uncomfortable. I am not a perfect person. I don’t drink or so drugs, I don’t drink coffee, I exercise, all my self care choices are eco friendly, I do therapy, I work a 12 step program, and yet, I battle with an addiction to nicotine over and over again. We all have our faults and this is mine. I’m owning it on a public level and it’s really hard...but this challenge isn’t about what’s easy or pretend, it’s about our truth. It’s about being raw and real. So here I am, a yoga teacher, an adventure enthusiast, a wellness practitioner and currently a vaper. Not looking for advice (I’m well versed in addiction recovery), just looking to be honest! What’s your secret vice? Join the challenge and share with us!
Behold the Little Golden Fauxdori! My experiment turning Little Golden book covers into refillable journals. Testing this one before I make some for sale. So far it’s a sweet and sturdy journal to work in.
One of the perks of creating a blog and business doing something I love is the opportunity to meet other creatives. Today was one of those days. This morning I met up with founder of independent travel journal Flourish to discuss working together through Green and the Great and Flourish magazine. Through hard work, determination and a positive mentality, Lucy has created a beautifully crafted magazine that can be cherished forever. It’s the kind of magazine that once you have bought one issue, you buy the collection! I’m already hooked and am excited to be selling Flourish via my shop later this year. If you love travel, landscapes, culture and stunning photography, then this is for you. More to follow soon.

Słabo gram w tego Instagrama. Przeglądam swoją galerię zdjęć i widzę setki ciekawszych niż wszechobecne tutaj samojebki zrobione w kiblu, a mimo to nie wrzucam 99% z nich.
No więc w geście buntu przeciwko dzieleniu się wszystkim tutaj w trybie Insta, wrzucam zdjęcie z Listopada 2018. Dom Yves Saint Laurenta w najładniejszym kolorze świata - Majorelle Blue.
No matter where you travel in Puerto Rico, it’s likely that you’ll see beautiful art that has taken to the streets. Colorful murals adorn walls, buildings, even stairways. Some of the art depicts Puerto Rico’s rich history, while other art is simply meant to beautify and revitalize areas. Still a third, and emerging, part of the Puerto Rican street art scene is political art.
“In the journal I do not just express myself more openly than I could to any person; I create myself. The journal is a vehicle for my sense of selfhood. It represents me as emotionally and spiritually independent. Therefore (alas) it does not simply record my actual, daily life but rather—in many cases—offers an alternative to it.” - Susan Sontag
