The plan was three of us running together all the way for 42.195km at pace 6. Target time was below 4 hrs 25 min. That was the mission.
The weather was on our side, windy and not too humid. Everything was according to plan until the rain started at km 26. One of us was cramp at that point and to maintain at pace 6 wasn't easy at his condition.
Despite heavy rain, two of us still continued our mission. Our shoes soaked with water but both of us ain't show any sign to stop. We know we can do this!
Our first 30km was sub3, but then I was hitting my wall/limit at km34. My mind and my body clearly show signs to stop and couldn't take this anymore. Lucky for us, @jubaque was there, he pushes us for the last 8 km. But I just can't take it any longer.
In marathon, the last 12 km will determine who you are. Physical strength will get you to the starting line but mental strength will get you to the finishing line. I have dropped my pace, my mental strength was shaking out and I couldn't keep up with them.
I said to my self "One day you won't be able to do this. Today is not that day!" The mental game was real ladies and gentlemen. I'm able to put myself back together and focus on the race.
Kuching Marathon was my 4th FM event, my previous FM was a nightmare. But it doesn't stop me to improve myself and alhamdulillah mission accomplished!
