59: Let’s party like it’s 1959
I’m starting off at the 59th street Oak Bar for some martinis, where I’ll be forcibly taken by mistake to Mr. Townsend’s residence for an interrogation. In this strange chaos, Leonard will offer me a libation: Scotch, Rye, Bourbon or Vodka. I really have to return to the Oak Bar but they insist by pouring a whole bottle of bourbon into me. It’s all a bit of a haze after that until I’m accused of murder at the UN, pulling a knife from the back of the wrong Mr. Townsend. What follows is a train ride to Chicago, being chased by a crop duster and narrowly escaping death at the top of Mt. Rushmore. All of this in about 2 hours and 15 minutes.
59% abv whiskies has me thinking of my favorite movie from 1959. The music, scenery, action scenes, dialogue and humor, and the graceful moves of the former acrobat, all paint the perfect backdrop for this whisky tasting.

Would Roger Thornhill agree with this ranking? Besides the train Gibson cocktail, Scotch was the only beverage we see him drink on camera 😉
Every whisky lover has a dream of stealing some whisky from the angels before it gets out from the barrel.
Well I have had a few chances to do that. Every time it was romantic, ecstatic and no matter what, delicious.
It feels like tasting the years, the history. I took this photo at @pauljohnwhisky distillery. I was stealing some whisky under 100 degrees but it was totally worth it.
Still on this rye kick.
This one is 90% rye. It has the spice I like with some hints of vanilla and a little butterscotch flavor. Not the greatest, but I've had much worse for more than the cost of this bottle. (I'm looking at you, Redemption Rye)
Who doesn’t love working late on a Friday?! • In @damnfinedram case, I certainly would have no issues what so ever • Sick set up, not sure if this is a home office or what, but can’t imagine much work getting done in this beauty, well done • #homebar
