For discriminating against the pole fitness community, by banning not only broad pole dance related hashtags, but also trick names and polewear brands. It is so disappointing to see such an accepting, inclusive, and supportive community be misunderstood and oppressed within a platform that should be far more progressive than this.
You can see all the bruises on my legs, and my pursed lips from focusing and engaging my muscles. I have callouses on my hands and feet, I’ve fought hard through nemesis tricks and injuries, and I work long, hard hours OUTSIDE of pole so that I can work hard IN pole.
Pole, whether it is done as an art form, for fitness, for entertainment, for work, or any combination of the above, deserves to be recognised, acknowledged, and appreciated.
"Someone complains to you that a new dad on the team is taking too much of his allotted family leave"
✨WHY IT MATTERS✨
All workers, men too!, should be able to spend time with their families, When workplaces have generous family more productive, and more likely to stay on staff. Plus, when men don't use their leave, it makes it harder for women to use theirs without judgment
✨WHAT TO DO✨
Stand up for your colleague on leave. Point out why it matters.More importantly, remind them that no one should be forced to choose between being a good employee and a good parent.
✨WHY IT HAPPENS✨
Working fathers can face pushback for spending time with their kids. They tend to receive lower performance ratings and experience steeper reductions in future earnings than mothers who take the same amount of leave. Much like maternal bias, this pushback is rooted in gender stereotypes. Moms are expected to be more committed to family and less to their careers. But the reverse is true for fathers, and when they go against that expectation by prioritizing family, they are penalized.

Feminism is for everybody. You often hear how feminists are nonfeminine angry women who hate men, well it's very far from the truth. Of course we get angry when someone treats us badly or violates our rights. We want respect, we are not slaves, not animals, not anybody's property. I am lucky to have many male friends who are feminists as well, my full respect to them🧡😘. Feminism is a beautiful word because it means we are all human beings. With feminism, the world is a better place for everybody. This cool shirt from @kaaloo.concept#feminism#humanrights#womensrights#respect#nobodysproperty#allhuman#radical#activist#lovenothate#equality
Central to the concept of honor based violence is that nothing is more important to the family honor than the absolute control of its females. Love is forbidden. Women’s bodies and souls are property of family. Families kill, abuse and lock girls and women up for this so called ”honor”. Families put their daughters in prison if they disobey. All justified by male Guardianship law that makes women minors and makes her property of males. Womens freedom and movement, possibilities and dreams is forbidden for the reputation of the tribe. Whoever practices honor abuse should be shamed. Saudi Arabia should be shamed for legally sanctioning this abuse against its females. #stopenslavingsaudiwomen#maleguardianshiphell#hbv#honor#humanrights#womensrights#feminist#feminism#equality#metoo#timesup#saudiarabia#guardianship#realmen#men
Need a weekend listen? 🎧 In the last full episode before Undercurrents' summer break, Ben is joined by Chatham House colleague Leah de Haan for two interviews from the annual Gender and Growth Forum.
Ben speaks with Rosamund Ebdon from @planinternational about a new report looking at girls' perceptions of leadership. They discuss how to improve the gender balance in management, the importance of role models and whether society's understanding of leadership qualities should change.
Leah then explores the challenges presented by ageing populations, particularly prevalent in Europe, with leading demography expert Sergei Scherbov. They assess whether existing policy is properly adjusted to meet the needs of older people, and what else can be done.

Women often are not allowed to pursue their dreams,
You need to cook,
You need to look after your family,
You need to look after your children,
Who's gonna look after home,
And so many concern arises when a woman feels the need to follow her dreams
When a man is never questioned about how do you manage home and work then why women???
If the home can be of a man and a woman, household chores, responsibility of children and other activities also must be of both.
What if you didn't have to think about your pill prescription for an entire year? We've made it possible. @colorfactoryco

My body is NOT up for discussion, and this mama bear dares you to tell me my daughter won't be able to make her own decisions about her body either.
I. Dare. You.

"Women get pregnant and they’re told they should’ve been on better birth control. Or they should’ve been sure the man was wearing a condom. Or they should’ve never “opened their legs” to begin with. All of the responsibility of the choices that come with having a sexual experience are placed on our shoulders — until we get pregnant. Then magically — we should have no say at all.
We protect men at all costs, while constantly telling women they have total responsibility for what happens before they get pregnant, but no say in what happens after.
Men are just as responsible for pregnancies as we are, and if our bodies are to be regulated, so too, should theirs."
I took a health class in high school (like most people do) and I was the only girl in said class which was taught by a male teacher. Now if that wasn’t uncomfortable enough, on day of the one (1) sex ed class we had, all eyes were on me when he was talking about birth control. It wasn’t the best feeling in the world but I dealt with it. Gotta pick your battles. Whatever. Now I’m going to preface this with I never really paid attention much in this class, I heard everything everyone said but I just disregarded it bc it was stuff I had already learned. (I went to a pretty liberal school so a lot of classes were discussion based, that being said my participation grade was never docked and I’m not sure why but whatever I passed with a B). I would write or doodle in my journal to pass the time. BUT when the teacher said (something along the lines of) “women should always carry condoms because they’ll be the one who has to take care of the baby” LET ME JUST SAY I saw fucking red. Despite being royally pissed the fuck off, I calmly and deliberately placed my pen next to my journal and raised my hand and saying a simple “um excuse me sir.” Then I very calmly and firmly (maybe too calm bc apparently I a little scary. Oops) told him that what he was saying was not only sexist and misogynistic but also heteronormative. And you best know that I explained to him why too. I don’t remember exactly what I said because in that moment I was so flipping mad that a teacher, a supposed educator, was spewing such bullshit. Then this one jerknapkin of kid tries to interrupt me but I wouldn’t stand for that, no siree. I looked at this kid dead in his eyes and told him “I am speaking and do not interrupt me”
Long story short, I went off on my teacher, I shocked the class, I’m pretty sure half of them were scared and the class was let out early.
That’s a moment I take immense pride in.
It’s been eye openings to see what entrepreneurship looks like in a different cultural context. In developed countries, people choose entrepreneurship because they want to do it but in rural Uganda you don’t really have a choice. There’s not nearly enough full time jobs with benefits available for the people so they become entrepreneurs because they have to. It’s more of a means of survival than pursing a passion or dream. They have to create their own job opportunities because there are few available.

This is unacceptable. Abortion is something a man will never have to experience, therefore the law making shouldn't be up to the men. And, Rapists should never get custody of children; it puts the child and mother in even more danger. Also, Consent can be withdrawn at anytime, that's just how it works #womenempowerment#womensrights#abortionrights#metoo

My fellow Jews—you can disagree with @ilhanmn’s views and still stand with her for the fact she is an American citizen & shouldn’t be “sent back”
Jews know what religious persecution, displacement, and hatred is like. Stand with her for the sake of validating her legitimacy.
If we, as Jews, truly want #NeverAgain —we must stand up when there are attacks on Americans who are being told to “go home” because of their faith, color of their skin, or whatever it may be.
We cannot be silent in the presence of white supremacy. We cannot be silent in the destruction of our democracy. We must stand with our Muslim brothers and sisters because we know what this can lead to. #IStandWithIlhan

You know those ideas where you go, "It's just so simple, it's genius", this idea is one of those. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
While toilet paper is considered a basic necessity, pads are added a so-called “luxury tax” in countries all over the world, placing them in the category of jewellery and wine. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It’s not a luxury to bleed.
Luckily, we can avoid this ridiculous tax, simply by wrapping sanitary pads on a roll – and sell them in the same category as toilet paper aiming to tackle stigmatizing laws. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
