New desk setup. Been working on this for a while. I started with some raw BC cherry wood and I am pretty pleased with the result. Used some blue metallic epoxy to fill a few cracks. My first crack at a project like this. Very satisfying to complete it. Mounted the top on a dual motor prime cables standing desk frame. #woodworking#primecables#fixthisbuildthat#o .g.b_woodoworking
The workmanship of literally EVERYTHING in the Davenport Hotel is a woodworkers dream! Every beam and piece of molding was hand-carved and extremely ornate. The round mahogany inlayed and birds eye maple framed table was pretty damn impressive as well. Inspiring.

My newest addition is kind of cute! :) I have to stopped browsing home decor on Instagram and buying pretty things... but for now I’m going to enjoy this. #homedecor#woodworking

Today Macsen and I were playing around on the lathe. He is making a mallet, and I made this fun little dealgan, or Scottish drop spindle. It spins beautifully, and if I were better at winding it I could probably spin nearly as fast as I do on the wheel. My consistency isn’t great, but it’s a lot of fun it use! It is turned out of hackberry and finished with Danish oil. #woodworking#woodturning#spinningwool#dropspindle#dealgan
I’ve posted about this before, but #heyfww I submit this toolchest of mine for review. I made the top portion in boat school at @nwswb and the bottom on my own. It’s got three drawers each with a little different construction and a different pull. The chest is put together with rabbeted corner posts just like you’d make a boat’s cabin, and the top rails and panels have matching camber. The handles are rope grommets with some tarred twine whipping, and everything’s finished with boiled linseed oil and wax, except for the top which has 3 coats of shellac between the oil and wax. I don’t do much shop work anymore, so it waits patiently until a shop project comes along for some use!
I hope you enjoy! #sapele#locust#toolchest#woodworking#woodshop#imadethis#handmade#woodenboatbuilding#frameandpanel#nwswb#todrasfinewoodworking
Lotsa firsts on this one. First bridal joints, first router-on-trammel to do a circle cut, first stripping and refinishing anything reclaimed and first joints cut with a handsaw and chisels. I don't hate the result, and I'm happy to have spent a few days building skills and using up wood that was likely destined for fire pits at one point.
I'm calling it George, because a buddy saw it and said it looked like a coffee table from The Jetsons.
#stateoftheshopsunday I walked out to the shop tonight and this is exactly how it was left. A photo is worth a thousand words, so I present you my weekend. .
The top for the side table is flattened and I'm working up through the grits. This ash top is looking beautiful! #notstaged
Went and picked up some 1x12 from the home center for another side project , while I'm also finishing the chair etc. A small "Dutch tool chest". I have a tool chest , but I want to try this one out and I need more storage anyway. #dutchtoolchest#newproject#woodworking

A completed recent project... custom built pool deck - just in time to squeeze in a few more swims for the summer.
