Here is Jeanette from Sweden on her Eco Corner 7 Chakra Premium Cork Yoga Mat.
Under the guidance of Dr. Vaishnevi at the Academy of Yoga, she was participating in a yoga therapy class for spinal alignment and stiff shoulders pain management.
Her lightweight Eco Corner cork Yoga mat provides the necessary grip and cushioning that helps Jeanette get the best possible results from her therapy.
Remember that your body listens to your thoughts. Make them good ones! Even when the teacher is making you hold those poses a little longer!! What is a pose you could hold on to a little longer??? .

✴EIGHT LIMBS OF YOGA✴⠀⠀⠀
So essentially yoga is a spider, right? 🕷⠀⠀⠀
Well, kind of! A spider will have an awfully hard time moving around fully if it is missing a leg or two. 😬⠀⠀⠀
With yoga, it's similar. To fully access the benefits and purpose of yoga philosophy, one must tap into all eight limbs both on AND off the mat!🧘🏽♀️⠀⠀⠀
After yesterday's post about Dharana (concentration), I felt like it was time to follow up on my first series of the Yamas (the first limb about how to interact with yourself and others) with the second series on the Niyamas! 🙏🏼
Niyamas are observances of how we carry ourselves in this life which include purity, contentment, self-discipline, self-study, and surrender.🔍⠀⠀⠀
Tomorrow, we will start with the first jewel, Saucha (purity). I encourage you to join in conversation with me and others here about how you interpret these concepts and how they show up in your lives!💎⠀⠀⠀
Tag a friend who would be interested in joining!⬇️⠀⠀⠀
P.s. if anyone knows who made this awesome animation, please let me know so I can give credit where credit is due!⠀⠀⠀
Something I have been struggling with lately, so I’m giving this a try for the second month!
As some of you know I got off BC in October & since then a regular period hasn’t been occurring & my ache which was non existent is very existent now. WHICH SUCKS!
I have had my period 3 times since then. 2 were “forced” periods due to a 10 day pill.
But my last one can naturally & related or not related it came on my first month of taking balance.
So in hopes that this truly did help my hormones I’m going to try this for another month or two!! If anyone else is struggling with something similar, I’ll tell ya in a few more months if I truly recommend this product 🙌🏻

😊❤️ 📸 @panpanyoga 🙏🏽

Downward dog 🧘🏻♀️ I remember when I first started practicing yoga, I hated this position and found it so uncomfortable and I could never understand why people would classify it as a resting position. After learning how to hold the pose I can understand how it is a position that allows my stomach to breathe and how it is a resting position. If you are also finding down dog difficult, these tips might help:
⭐️ outwardly rotate your upper arms (and underarms)
⭐️ lower arm rotates inwards
⭐️let the head hang and have your ears in line with your arms
⭐️shoulder blades away from ears ⭐️engage quadriceps strongly to take the burden of your body’s weight off your arms
✨How to do Half Pigeon✨
Here's a flow into half pigeon that I did today - got a couple of requests so here it is! Half pigeon requires opening of: hips, hamstrings, hip flexors, quads - .
1. Downdog - single hip circles both directions, both legs
2. Downdog - bent and straighten knees
3. Walk up to forward fold to yogi squat (back and forth)
4. Yogi squat - side stretch
5. Low lunge --> shift to half splits back and forth
6. Lizard lunge --> bend and straighten knees --> bend and straighten arms
7. [other side for steps 5 and 6]
8. Standing figure four - both sides (option to fold) - make sure to flex the feet to protect knees
9. Cobbler's pose/butterfly - fold over
10. Craddle one leg and rock side to side --> seated figure four (both sides)
11. Low lunge - bend back knee and grab ankle for quad/hip flexor stretch
12. Set up for half pigeon - get front shin as close to parallel as possible to front of mat and back leg straight back, square hips, engage hips and legs to lift arms up .
Try this sequence out and let me know how it goes! ❤️ Wearing all @aloyoga 🌿 #TutorialsWithLiz

Yoga is not just standing on your head...but learning to stand on your own two feet :: this quote is credited to Integral Yoga Founder Swami Satchidananda. It resonates with yoga teachers and students because it counters the popular image of yoga as glorified acrobatics. While learning to stand on your head or do other poses that are difficult for you is fun and gives you a sense of accomplishment, it's not really the purpose of a yoga practice. If the confidence you get from doing yoga carries off your mat and into your life, that's more like it.
Likewise, if you never are able to do a headstand, that doesn't mean that you're bad at yoga because no one posture represents the entirety of this practice. In fact, the postures themselves are pretty much beside the point after a while. .
Take what you learn on the mat and carry it over into your life. Standing on your head won’t make you a better person or a better yogi off the mat. 🤗 However poses are fun sometimes, it’s ok to enjoy them. They are an amazing technique for purifying the body so not to discredit the beautiful history and insurmountable benefits. It is just important to keep the true integrity of the practice in mind at all times. 🙏🏼 Namaste have an AHmazing weekend ✨🙌🏼💕 as always a dedication to #sridharmamittra who brought me to this path and guided me to where I stand now... “It’s traditional” - but when we think about asana, what is ‘tradition’? A transmission of customs or beliefs from generation to generation? How many generations does it take for something to become tradition? A lot of the asana we practice are just a few generations old, if that; many perhaps inspired by Indian wrestling and western gymnastics.

I am currently reading ‘The Giver’ and the only word I can think of to describe it is weird! It’s so strange but its concept is also really interesting. Have you watched or read The Giver? .
