Sanjusangen-do is one of the largest temples in Kyoto and basically all of Japan. Inside; (where you are not allowed to film), to start out is an enormous hall filled with literally 1000+ large Buddha statues that are actual representations of real people along with some very powerful deities ahead of them, absolutely breathtaking to behold. After this amazing beginning are a series of hallways and rooms that showcase very accurately what life would have been like hundreds of years ago including artwork and mannequins dressed in traditional Japanese attire carrying out what would be daily activities and even high ranking meetings in secret rooms with shogun and samurai, even the emperor himself! There are also a plethora of old real artifacts like armor and day to day items that you can stop and examine or even read about, It takes about an hour to walk all the way through the temple and that is even going fairly quickly there is honestly so much going on and to talk about in this particular temple that I haven’t even mentioned in this picture (original squeeking flooring amazing property with other cool buildings to name a couple) that you could easily spend 2 hours there. Very cool experience if you want a real good example of life in the long since passed old Japanese lifestyle
